As soon as we arrived in London, it felt like fall. Our second full day there, we visited Hyde Park and fell in love with the leaves and the land, and made it a mission to stop at every park we stumbled upon in England. The day after, we paid a late morning visit to Buckingham Palace and strolled Green Park, where we sat on a bench for way too long since I was still recovering from my cold. The only place I really needed to go in London was Peggy Porschen's, so we headed there for cake and tea to lift our spirits and spoil our dinners. Look for an upcoming travel post for more details!

It's been a minute since Alex and I left London. I turned twenty-five there on September 16, and although it's now past one month later, it feels like yesterday. We woke up to drizzling rain and continued our morning tradition of coffee and a cinnamon bun at Monocle Cafe before continuing on the Day of Birthday Dreams sightseeing around one of the world's loveliest cities. I saw Big Ben for the first time (twinklier than I imagined) and the London Eye (smaller than I imagined). Alex treated me to champagne and one of the only delicious meals in England—fish and chips.

Despite the food, it's a city I already can't wait to get back to. I've always heard London is the European sister city to Seattle, and now that I've been the weather and the tones and the mood for myself, I'd have to say I agree.
