What's In Store

Yes, I've already got my tree up

Today's post is going to be somewhat of an update. It's one of those times that I won't be able to feel organized until I write everything out and can see it all in front of me. I just landed in Seattle for Thanksgiving, and it has already been a whirlwind because Caitlin and I didn't tell anyone else in the family I was coming. My family and I are very tight, so we're all a little overwhelmed about the happy surprise and loving being in each others' company for the next couple of days.

Secondly, I've picked up my first freelance writing job. If you know me at all, you know I go on and on about writing all the time and how much I love it. While I'm in the midst of writing my first book with big dreams of someday publishing, I've finally got my foot in the door with at least a bit of a byline. I'm writing for RedCurrent about local events going on in the Twin Cities. I'm really into it so far as each article is based around the story of a person involved with each event. It's also going to be released as a sweet app in January, so keep an eye out for that. My latest piece was on a favorite shop in the North Loop, Roe Wolfe.

Finally, I'm making a slight adjustment to my posting schedule. When I first started Zipped, I posted five days a week. After a few months of that, I started posting Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and have kept that up for the past three years. My schedule has gotten progressively busier since then (for better or for worse) making it harder for me to meet the deadlines I've given myself. I'll still be posting three times each week, but you may find a new post on Sunday instead of Monday or Thursday instead of Friday. I want to make sure the content I'm putting out is up to par with my goals, and this can help me do that.

I hope you all have a great holiday weekend and shop until you drop this Friday. Here are a few places to keep an eye on:
