Sneak Peek: MN Fashion Week
Minneapolis/St. Paul Fashion Week takes place in September almost directly after New York Fashion Week, and yesterday I had the opportunity to get a first look at some of the local designers' collections. I met up with the crew at a photo studio in Northeast Minneapolis to snap some behind-the-scenes lookbook shots.
Cocoon by Elizabeth Geisler
Elizabeth designs with her mother in mind, but with a youthful modern twist. I loved how she described her line -- "Alexander Wang cool with a real-woman fit." Her pieces were right up my alley: comfortable, textural, and in beautiful neutral shades.
Christopher Straub by Christopher Straub
I've had the opportunity to meet Christopher Straub a few times on occasion, but this was the first time I had the chance to watch him at work. He's crazy inspiring and has such a clear vision for everything he does. I love the edgy vibe he's presenting this fall! Those swaggy track pants are number one on my wish list. This is the first collection he's presented at MN Fashion Week that includes all handmade handbags, rather than being designed and outsourced. So fun!

If you're as excited as I am to see these collections come to life on the runway (and you're local!) I've partnered with MN Fashion to give away 2 general admission tickets to The Shows September 25 and 26. I would love to see you there! To enter, all you need to do is follow Zipped on Google or Bloglovin' and leave a comment with a way I can contact you. For extra entries, feel free to follow myself (@truelane) and MN Fashion (@MNfashion) on Twitter. Winner will be announced Monday September 9.
Thanks so much to MN Fashion for inviting me, designers Elizabeth and Christopher, and the lovely model Holly!
