One of the things I love most about running a blog is getting to show you around different corners of my favorite place in the world—Seattle. The Hiram M. Chittenden Locks, or Ballard Locks (the name of the neighborhood they're in), are such a cool place to spend an hour or two walking around. There are beautiful gardens surrounding it, and in the summer boats on boats pile in to pass through to the other side. My dad used to work on tugboats and drove them through these exact locks back in the eighties. In fact, there are a lot of pockets in Seattle that my parents tell me stories about from when they were single or just began dating, and it's quite special to go back and visit those places now. Especially when I get to bring my photographer along, immortalize them through images, and share them with all of you.
