Tee, denim, and heels c/o Everlane | Express coat | ASOS handbag (similar)

A couple weeks back, Everlane sent me a little “basics” package that included a white tee, a pair of their standard denim, Day heels, and a base layer—the high-rise hipster. It’s been great getting to know a brand I’ve seen on the Internet for so long. I haven’t worked with them since 2014 (omg and omg), and in a pinch before a trip I bought one of their dresses in May that I reached for all summer long. Between the quality, fit, and the fact that their an eco-conscious brand that actually cares about our Earth and the people in it, you really can’t go wrong.

Sezane sweater
  |  KIZIK sneakers c/o Zappos  |  Sezane denim  Marc Jacobs handbag

I can’t tell you how excited I was to receive these KIZIK sneaks in the mail from Zappos—well, actually I can, because I slipped them onto my feet as soon as I opened the package! These babies didn’t take any breaking in and were ready for adventures right out of the box. KIZIK uses a unique hands-free slip-on technology (which I’m showcasing on my Instagram Story today!) that I haven’t seen anywhere else. I can’t wait to bring these on my next trip—if you end up having to remove your shoes in airport security, these would be the perfect time-saving pair to have waiting for you on the other side.

My KIZIKs fit true to size, but Zappos’ customer service makes returns incredibly easy (and free!) if you need to make a swap. Plus, with easy and fast shipping (sign up for their rewards program for expedited shipping—you won’t regret it!), it’s the perfect one-stop-shop for gift shopping before the holidays. Add a pair of KIZIKs to your cart and get ready to live that function-meets-fashion life.

Sweater c/o Buckle | Aritzia coat | Levis denim | Steve Madden ankle boots | ASOS handbag (similar)

There’s nothing like getting back into the swing of things. After I visited LA two months ago for Michele’s (my regular photographer for truelane) wedding, she took trips to Hawaii and Austin and I went on trips to the Olympic Peninsula, Minneapolis, and New York…but this weekend, we finally got together and shot a few looks for the site that I can’t wait to share!

This first look came together out of necessity—I told myself if I didn’t wear these boots again by the end of the year, I would have to get rid of them…and let’s be honest, I still might. As sassy as they are, the last time I wore them was in February, and I’ll let you guys in on something. These little two-inch heels are too tall for me. I never end up reaching for them because my only rule getting dressed every day is that I want to be comfortable, and to me, walking in heels is the opposite of comfortable. But here I am, wearing them, and to be honest, I do love how cool they look. So…I guess we’ll see if I get them on again before another ten months go by. Oops.
