Typically, monochromatic looks include different tones of one color in solids, but this look is a little different. I took monochromatic inspiration—using beige and green earth tones, and incorporated each of them with different patterns and textures. The stripes in the tee and the green of the jacket are all reflected in my wildly patterned faux snakeskin shoes. It's my own version of a thing. I do what I can to make my usual jeans and a tee just a little more interesting.

Last week, I was on the phone with my mom and realized that my life is anything but routine. "It's all or nothing with you," she told me, and she's right. I'll go for weeks at a time just staying at home with no plans, writing and reading and enjoying my time being a homebody. Then the next week, I have 3 days of events in a row, a trip to take, appointments scheduled and sponsored posts to shoot. This week is one of the busy ones. I'm so excited to explore Paso Robles, California for the first time this weekend while visiting family, but before that I have a ton of work to do, a new couch coming, appointments of course, an exciting Airbnb stay here in Seattle...phew. Before this week, the most exciting thing that happened to me was this white blazer arriving in the mail. I got it $300 off on Gilt and knew immediately I wanted to style it with a graphic tee for a little rocker chic look. You might normally see it in a business look, but hey, no rules when it comes to fashion, right?

As soon as I got this breezy, boho pair of sneakers, I found my summer mood. The leather is buttery soft and the natural shade will blend perfectly with the tan that I know is coming. I paired them with rolled ankle jeans, a Hawaiian-inspired top, and messy beach waves for an effortless warm-weather look from top to bottom. One more perk? They’re super flexible which means they’re great for packing along for summertime travels. The only question is…where should we go first?
